BETWEEN WORDS THEATRE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2025 AWARD WINNERS

Victoria, BC – June 10, 2025 — The Between Words Theatre Festival is proud to announce the winners of its 2025 festival, held June 3–7 at the Belfry BMO Studio. The week-long celebration of new and diverse theatre talent was once again a complete sell-out for the third consecutive year.

Kurt Archer, Festival Director, shared: “This year marked a significant milestone with financial awards generously provided by the Belfry Theatre to further the works created in the festival—an exciting first for us! We’re deeply grateful for this support, which uplifts our community of over one hundred participating local artists across fourteen productions.”

Gratitude was also extended to Festival Sponsors: Theatre SKAM, Theatre al Dente, and The Canadian Heritage Arts Society for their support of the Festival.

Festival Adjudicator and Belfry Artistic Director Michael Shamata, added: “It’s been an honour to serve as adjudicator. The breadth of creativity, courage, and storytelling I’ve witnessed this week has been extraordinary.”
