Between Words Theatre announces participants for the 2026 Victoria One Act Play Festival

Between Words Theatre is thrilled to announce the festival participants for the 2026 Victoria One Act Play Festival, taking place June 2–6, 2026 at the Belfry Stewart Theatre in Victoria, BC. The festival celebrates new, original one‑act works and brings together local artists across disciplines for five days of bold storytelling and community connection.

This year’s lineup reflects the breadth of creativity in our region, spanning comedy, drama, dance, and experimental work. Each production will present a fully staged one‑act performance as part of a festival program designed to spotlight both emerging and established artists.

  • The Death of the Sun by J Johnson (Pithy Productions)
  • Something Weird is Happening in Balanchine’s Backyard by Miranda Reid, Eric Moll (Rebound Dance Collective)
  • The Risotto is Burning by Sophie Underwood
  • The Landlord’s Game by Sean Weeks
  • Finer, Further, Faster by William “Bill” Allen (Theatre Nautica)
  • Ask the Oracle by Theodore Falkiner (timetheft theatre)
  • Be Free by Daria Igumnova (Trigger Productions)
